The Multilingualism Doctoral School (MDS) was founded within the Faculty of Modern Philology and Social Sciences and – unlike other linguistics doctoral schools already successfully operating – it focuses on multilingualism, which is one of the recently developed research areas in the highest demand, integrating humanities, social studies and natural sciences.
The Department of Applied Linguistics, which is the home institution of the Doctoral School, runs an Applied Linguistics MA programme both in Hungarian and in English. The department organises international conferences and publishes the Hungarian Journal of Applied Linguistics (peer-reviewed ERIH Plus journal).
The working languages of the MDS are English and Hungarian.
